What Do We Do?
If you are designing a new facility or upgrading an existing one, we will match the facility needs to the mechanical & control choices available and guide you through the maze of supplier products and claims. We'll assist with the needs assessment, design and specification development, bidding, scheduling, and evaluation process. We will review submittals and shop drawings and develop a commissioning and qualification plan that takes all aspects of startup into consideration. We will generate a regulatory risk analysis, User Requirement Specifications, Functional Requirement Specifications, enhanced design review, qualification plans, IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, Standard Operating Procedures and participate in the final approval process and execution to insure all requirements are met. Finally, we will see that the contractors and building staff are trained so that the maximum benefits can be realized from the systems. By taking a proactive approach throughout the project, we insure that potential problems are caught in advance, learning curves are shortened, and startup heartaches are minimized achieving critical timelines.
In existing buildings, Quality Alternatives Architecture & Engineering can diagnose mechanical & control systems,
which allows for an understanding of the full system, correct and generate documentation to demonstrate compliance. In our careers we have solved problems with building and space pressurization, unsafe fume hoods, odors, cross contamination, poor ventilation rates, Indoor Air Quality, uncomfortable space conditions, equipment performance and control problems that have eluded others. If equipment upgrades are required, we will work within your budget to determine the
available choices.
Here Is How We Can Help You.
The control of airflow and space pressure and the architectural relationships for multiple systems is one of the least understood specialties in HVAC, yet the performance of these systems is critical to the proper operation of a complex building. Worker safety and productivity hinge on the performance of the ventilation systems and their controls. With our extensive background and knowledge, Quality Alternatives Architecture & Engineering helps owners achieve optimum performance, within budgetary constraints, and in accordance with the project time table.
What differentiates us from our competition is:
We stand by our initial quote, which is realistic, with no agenda to charge for extras. |
Our objective is to make the client's job easier and to do the job right the first time. |
Integrity is the cornerstone of the company foundation. |
We evaluate control programs frequently written by integrators to ensure the details necessary for continued operation are embedded in the program. |
We can also provide failure analysis, accurate operating ranges, and engineering studies for acceptance criteria of legacy and new equipment systems. |
To avoid problems with validated equipment and systems, we design & assess support utilities with the intent to qualify. |
We present weak points in the design that may compromise the system performance and provide solutions before construction
or address the weaknesses in S.O.P.s to protect the client. |
We provide understanding of the impact and ramifications of decisions and coordinate the required work to achieve the goal. |
Our ability to troubleshoot mechanical & controls systems from both the system design and the controls logic allows swift and productive commissioning generation and execution and deviation resolution. |
We develop commissioning documents concurrent with the design that incorporate a contractor/owner/agent matrix of responsibilities with the specific testing procedures. Specifications include detailed sequence of operations and control diagrams allowing realistic and accurate cost and schedules from the bidders. |
We utilize a requirement traceability matrix philosophy to expedite the client design & documentation review. |
