Dear Antonette, We want to keep all our friends and clients included in what's happening here at Quality Alternatives Architecture & Engineering.
NJIT graduate course Facilities Validation April 12, 2004
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Antonette has been invited for the second time to teach 3 hrs on the Facilities Validation segment for the Graduate Course entitled: Validation and Regulatory Issues in the Pharmaceutical Industry. This course is a cornerstone of an exciting new degree opportunity at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). NJIT recently introduced a Master of Science degree in pharmaceutical engineering - a degree that prepares students to work in the pioneering fields of drug manufacturing, drug development and pharmaceutical operations. The pharmaceutical degree is the newest of several programs recently introduced by the university. The pharmaceutical degree, one of only a handful of such programs in the United States, gives students the foundation to work within the highly regulated pharmaceutical field. Students work with esteemed faculty, who are researching applications such as particle technology, drug delivery systems and membrane separation. The degree benefits not only the students, but also the growth of Technology Industries and the State of New Jersey which is at the geographical heart of the nation's pharmaceutical firms. Here's some comments from the last classes: "Thank you for presenting to us last Monday night. I was very impressed with the level of practical knowledge you have related to HVAC systems, issues related to clean air maintenance and the related problems facing the pharmaceutical industry." Newark Campus. "That was the fastest 3 hours I have ever seen in a classroom. Just when I thought you were going at full speed you blasted through the last hour. Excellent presentation on all the topics you covered. Based on the applause, I'm sure everyone in the class was equally impressed with your energy and knowledge of the subjects covered." Companies Can Help Make a Difference in Their Communities! To the Cerebral Palsy League (CPL), Quality Alternatives Architecture & Engineering, LLC is the ultimate good neighbor. For the past year, Quality Alternatives has "dropped in" to offer neighborly assistance from design and project management to raising vital funds for daily operations. CPL is a local-based charity that provides complete medical, educational and other support services to children and adults with moderate to severe disabilities caused by Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome or other medical conditions. Last year, CPL provided services to 225 individuals at its two facilities in Union and Cranford. The neighborly relationship began when Antonette Mitterando, Managing Member of Quality Alternatives Architecture & Engineering, recognized that people would rather "give from their hearts and not just their pocketbooks." Thanks to Ms. Mitterando's leadership, the kids at the Cranford facility are in for a real treat, with a brand new playground facility. Mitterando has been involved with the CPL since 1995 and has served as a Board Member. Quality Alternatives Architecture & Engineering has solicited assistance for the project from a wide range of other businesses who have also contributed their time and talent to develop the design and installation for the Cranford site: Nordic Construction of Ledgewood; Julie Nelson Blank, landscape architect, of Bernardsville; Total Control Concepts of Kenilworth; J. Moore & Company of Livingston; Universal Construction of Bedminster; DPR Electric of Bound Brook, C.R. Bard Medical of Murray Hill and Northern Nurseries, Inc. of Somerset. "Once you see the kids and realize all that they and their families struggle with, you realize that you're touching lives of those less fortunate," Ms. Mitterando says. With the collaboration of our combined skills and resources, our companies can make a big difference in the lives of others in our communities."
